Land Planner Fred Grogan Sits on Expert Panel for NC Steep Slope Erosion Control BMPs3.7.11
What Erosion Control Best Management Practices work best on steep mountain terrain? What options do builders and contractors have on pitched lots and when constructing, or grading, on hillsides? When the rain is pounding your jobsite and torrents of water are flowing into, and tearing away your cut slopes, will you be ready? Preventing erosion and controlling the migration of sediment is a challenge on construction sites, however it can become more demanding with increased topography. On Thursday, our Land Planner Fred Grogan, who was appointed to the NC Sediment Control Commission Technical Advisory Committee this past year, sat on a panel of experts who addressed the challenges of steep slope erosion control at the 2011 Asheville Land Development Conference. Good job Fred! Way to reinforce your expertise in this specific area!
