- Watershed Planning on over 1,000 miles of stream and riparian areas in 20 watersheds
- Facilitation of over 100,000 feet of on-the-ground Stream Enhancement or Restoration
- Permanent Conservation of approximately 9,100 acres in western North Carolina and east Tennessee
- Conservation Subdivision Planning or Low Impact Development (LID) on 25 Residential Developments totaling over 6,500 acres
- Landscape Design, Park & Greenway, and Stormwater Management Planning for more than 35 projects
- Approximately $4 Million in Funds Raised through public and private granting sources for land and water conservation
Our home state is North Carolina. Since 1998, our primary geographic focus has been the southern Appalachian mountain and piedmont region, but we are expanding to service the entire southeast. The region is home to extraordinary environmental and cultural treasures. It is also challenged with tremendous pressures on land, water, and air resources. Equinox believes that through proper planning, a balance can be achieved between conservation and development of these resources such that the economic vitality and quality of life of the region is enhanced.
Equinox' passionate and well qualified staff is an integral component to the success of each project we undertake. Equinox' eleven person staff includes an environmental scientist, a wildlife biologist, a fisheries biologist, a botanist, two environmental planners, a land planner, two environmental designers, a landscape designer, and a human resource manager. We are not the biggest of firms but we strive to be the best at what we do.
