I received my Master’s degree in Ecology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from James Madison University. Previous educational experience also includes a degree in Horticulture. My graduate research in rare plant ecology and management combined with considerable outdoor and on-the-ground conservation experience provide me with the unique ability to put conservation science into practice. I have worked extensively on invasive plant removal and ecological restoration at Equinox and as a biological technician for North Cascades National Park in Stehekin, WA. Currently, my work responsibilities include natural resource inventories and baseline documentation for vascular plant species and native plant communities. I am also responsible for drafting invasive plant management plans, biological reports and proposals as well as performing threatened and endangered species assessments, vegetation monitoring, and wetland delineation. I am a certified Associate Ecologist by the Ecological Society of America and a NC certified pest consultant and pesticide applicator. My enduring appreciation for the native flora and fauna of Western North Carolina and commitment to conservation ensure that I will work to create a sustainable environmental legacy.
