Win holds a Master of Science degree in Fisheries Biology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Management with a minor in Forest Resource Management from Clemson University. After graduation, Win spent a year in Idaho documenting cutthroat trout populations and their associated habitat types. He then returned to the southeast where he worked as an Assistant Fisheries Biologist with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission prior to becoming the District Fisheries Biologist in one of the western North Carolina districts. During his five years with the Wildlife Commission he became very knowledgeable about the policies and procedures concerning fisheries resources. Additionally, Win’s time spent as an avid outdoorsman and actively managing wildlife on multiple farms over the years has diversified his overall understanding of ecosystem management and monitoring.
Trainings and experience acquired while at Equinox have resulted in Win becoming specialized in additional ecological monitoring and assessment roles such as stream and wetland restoration monitoring, stream classification and assessment, and watershed restoration project acquisition.
Win and his wife Sarah reside in East Asheville with their daughter Grayson, son Jake, and bird dog Sage.
