NEPA, Regulatory Permitting, & Due Diligence
Equinox possesses a strong working knowledge of the National and State Environmental Policy Acts (NEPA & SEPA); federal and state permitting regulations governing disturbances of streams, wetlands, and riparian areas; and rules protecting R/T/E species and their critical habitats. Additionally, we understand and have been applying the new rules formulated by the US Environmental Protection Agency that govern the performance of Phase I environmental site assessments, often performed by purchasers of a property as part of their due diligence to determine if problematic environmental conditions exist on site. SEE SAMPLE PROJECTS BELOW.
Our staff composition which includes environmental scientists, environmental planners, and biologists makes us uniquely suited for performing categorical exclusion screening, Environmental Assessments (EA), and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) associated with NEPA and SEPA. Members of our staff are experienced with delineation of streams and wetlands using standard state and US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) protocols. Two of our biologists possess State of NC stream delineation certifications. Because of our extensive knowledge and comfort in all types of field conditions, Equinox is often the firm of choice for performing Phase I environmental site assessments.
